The Canadian Underground Infrastructure Innovation Centre (CUIIC) hosted the 2023 CUIIC Innovation Forum last week at the University of Alberta. This yearly event brought together 80 attendees to learn about cutting-edge solutions and major trends in underground infrastructure The event included informative presentations by guest speakers, networking, a tour of the University of Alberta's lab facilities, and the CUIIC Annual General Meeting. Guest Speakers Included: Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell, College Dean and Vice Provost at the University of Alberta "Barrier-Free Interdisciplinary Collaboration at the University of Alberta" Abhishek Bhargava, Senior Manager, Drainage Engineering at EPCOR "Managing Water and Wastewater Infrastructure: Navigating the Challenges" Greg Caldwell, Director, Utility Hydrogen at ATCO "Engineering De-Carbonizing Energy in Alberta" Ali Bayat, Director of CUIIC at the University of Alberta "Research at University of Alberta: Past and Future" Kevin Jolly, Business Development Manager and Rob Petruk, Digital Offerings and Innovations at Dura-Line "Innovation on Fibre Infrastructure Built" CUIIC would like to thank all of the speakers, attendees and University of Alberta staff who facilitated the lab tours. The event was very well received and we look forward to hosting the Innovation Forum again next year.
