In collaboration with numerous research universities and a vast customer base, we have developed and improved new technologies, methods, and materials in the field of tunnel construction. From establishing our own laboratory in 2020, to setting the qualitative standard of shield grease, to developing our own thixotropic bentonite additive, and to having our own line of tail seal grease. As a leading enterprise in the field of tunnel excavation, sustainable progress is our bottom line. With multiple offices located in North America and projects all across Asia, Balsam Laboratory is involved in a variety of activities and expanding quickly. About CUIIC: The Canadian Underground Infrastructure Innovation Centre (CUIIC) was established in 2022. CUIIC is a cross-Canada initiative located at the University of Alberta. We have partners at the University of Waterloo and members across Canada. CUIIC focuses on providing stakeholders with opportunities to collaborate on research and training opportunities in underground infrastructure.
