The Canadian Underground Infrastructure Innovation Centre (CUIIC) invites nominations for its committees and subcommittees for the upcoming term. If your organization is a proud member of CUIIC and you're passionate about collaborating with fellow experts in the underground infrastructure field to advance education and research in critical areas, we encourage you to consider active participation in one of our dynamic committees. The deadline to submit nominations is Sunday, September 15, 2024. ** Nomination form can be found at the bottom of this page. ** For those organizations not yet part of our community, we extend a warm invitation to join this initiative and play a pivotal role in driving industry progress. To discover more about the roles and responsibilities of committee members, please refer to the CUIIC Governance Handbook. The following committees/subcommittees are now open for nominations: 1. CUIIC Education and Outreach Committee: This committee spearheads education and outreach initiatives within CUIIC, fostering collaboration among members and championing the organization's goals. Monthly webinars, CUIIC academies, and other educational endeavors are conceived and coordinated by this dynamic team. 2. CUIIC Pipeline Rehabilitation Subcommittee: Our Pipeline Rehabilitation Subcommittee focuses on educational activities and national academies dedicated to pivotal aspects of pipeline condition assessment, rehabilitation, and pipeline infrastructure management. The Subcommittee will help shape the upcoming 2025 Pipeline Rehabilitation Academy in Mississauga, Ontario. 3. CUIIC Safety Subcommittee: Safety is paramount in underground infrastructure, and our Safety Subcommittee is committed to organizing educational events and activities centred on safety in underground infrastructure construction and rehabilitation. We are eagerly anticipating the 2025 Safety Academy coming back to Edmonton, Alberta. 4. CUIIC Geotechnical Subcommittee: Soil is a critical factor in successful underground construction, and our subcommittee is dedicated to educational activities related to geotechnical work. The committee will be actively involved in shaping future national academies focused on geotechnical activities. This includes the 2025 Geotechnical Workshop taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia. 5. CUIIC Industrial and Membership Committee: The Industrial and Membership Committee plays a pivotal role in overseeing industrial-related initiatives within CUIIC and managing membership matters. Its core mission is to foster collaboration among members, advance the organization's objectives in the industrial sector, and ensure a vibrant and diverse membership. We encourage you to seize this opportunity to make a meaningful impact within CUIIC and the underground infrastructure community.
